The programme shows that Lanchester had enlisted Sir Charles Grant Robertson (Vice-Chancellor of Birmingham University) as chairman for the lecture. Supporting him were Professor Granville Bantock (University of Birmingham), Adrian Boult (conductor of the City of Birmingham Orchestra), P.J.H. Hannon, M.P., and G.F. McDonald; the Lord Mayor of Birmingham was to be present; the lecture to be illustrated by records (which are listed) and then followed by a musical programme of records arranged by Adrian Boult.
